While the rest of mankind dwells in the light, we must stand in the darkness to fight it, contain it, and shield it from the eyes of the public, so that others may live in a sane and normal world.
QUIET NIGHT
AT THE
FARM
Part One
The Farm
Interior of SCP-001.
SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES: SCP-001 is surrounded by, sustained by, and constructed atop a great multitude of entangled Anomalous defenses, predominantly of thaumaturgic and ontokinetic origin. These defenses shield SCP-001 and its inhabitants from all natural and unnatural assaults, rendering unauthorized entry impossible..Eurystheus-Class items are paramount to the continued stability of both the Foundation and consensus reality.
Those granted entry into SCP-001 must be comprehensively screened for all implicit hazards listed in the L6 Anomalous Threat Index (provided they are not known to already host a hazardous Anomalous effect) before they may pass through SCP-001-A.
DESCRIPTION: SCP-001, commonly known as the Demesne or the Farm, is a stable artificial pocket reality and self-contained natural ecosystem located directly above Universe Prime, relative to the Multiversal Compass. SCP-001 accommodates a three-dimensional space approximately 40km3 in volume, comprised of temperate Earth grassland, forest, and marsh.
As of the present, SCP-001's day lasts for 53 hours; dawn and dusk are prolonged greatly. The weather is calm, occasionally interrupted by a breeze or spell of light rain. Wildlife is minimal.
SCP-001 serves as the SCP Foundation's chief administrative command center. It is accessible via SCP-001-A.
Administrator Chetwood.
SCP-001 is used for the safe storage of top-level administrative infrastructure, and contains a variety of buildings to facilitate those purposes. Its most prominent landmark, Site Zero, a manor farmhouse located at the pocket reality's epicenter, is the longstanding private property of SCP Foundation Administrator Gabriel Morris Chetwood. From within Site Zero, Administrator Chetwood issues orders to high-ranking personnel, calls and conducts meetings, studies the Anomalous, lives, works, and rests.
During standard operation, Site Zero is staffed by a crew of no more than twenty to thirty human individuals, in addition to a vast array of unseen organic and artificial intelligences. The house is kept clean and in order at all times.
Overseer lodging is located 3km southwest of Site Zero; a hillside complex of thirteen buildings is designed to house each member of the Overseer Council in the event of a prolonged stay. These buildings contain Overseer-standard domestic and security amenities, as well as a roundtable meeting area. The complex is maintained by a small detachment of custodian staff.
To the north, a 470 acre plot of upkept woodland is used for recreational hunting; when in season, arriving guests are invited to hunt deer, elk, bear, sheep, cougar, and other animals native to SCP-001's natural environment.
The Administrative Forum, a voluminous gazebo and associated building 8km southeast of Site Zero, affords space for up to two hundred parties, of all departments, for constructive discussion with each other and the Administrator. Meetings with parties external to the Foundation are uncommon, but not unknown.
In addition to the areas listed above, SCP-001 is also populated by a myriad of uninhabited homes, and smaller farms. Administrative policy dictates that they are not altered.
SCP-001-A can be accessed at SCP-001's eastmost point.
MEMORANDUM: As information concerning SCP-001 is restricted to those with Level Six security clearance in aeternum, the SCP-001 slot is utilized on security clearances below Six to temporarily designate what is currently considered the SCP Foundation's most important or troubling item.
Site Zero is now preoccupied with the containment of this item, and will remain unavailable for secondary purposes. This represents an Alpha priority.
